Activities
Computer Association
The Computer Association is functioning with the active participation from
students and faculty. Association conducts academic as well as
non-academic programmes, which provide the students a chance to
bring out their talents.

Computer Association has organized various programmes. Some of the

CSI Chapter
A chapter of Computer Society of India is functioning in the
department.
Mr. Sreejesh V.K, Lecturer is in charge of the chapter.
Linux Club
In order to promote the open source software, Linux Club is
organizing various activities. Mr. Binoy D.M Panicker, Lecturer is
in-charge of the Club. Several main and mini projects are developed
using open source software. Open source operating systems and other
utilities are installed in majority of the laboratories in the
College. Members of Linux Club configured the web server and proxy
using open source software such as Squid, Sarg, Squid Guard, TomCat,
Postgre SQL etc.
Industrial Visits
Students are frequently visiting industries as part of industrial
tour and project work. Entrepreneurship Development Club is also
conducting industrial visits to nearby industries.
A team of 50 students accompanied by faculty visited M/s
HCL Industries on 26 August 2006.
34 students visited TIDEL PARK, Chennai and JRD Institute
of Science & Technology on 03 August 2006.
Majority of the students undergo implant training and
project training in various industries and R&D institutions.
Consultancy
The department has offered consultancy services to North Malabar
Gramin Bank and to several co-operative banks, and is also in the
process of expanding the services to nearby industries and
Government departments. Presently the automation of 30 branches and
head office of District Co-operative Bank is progressing.
