   5.     EXPERIENCE IN RESEARCH                       

·         Documented extensively the famous “Padmanabhapuram Palace”, the classical example of Kerala Architecture, with about 140 measured drawings.

·         Documented extensively the famous “Krishnapuram Palace”, at Kayamkulam another example of Kerala Architecture.

·         Probed into the housing issues of the masses of Kerala with pro poor and environmental concerns.

   6.      EXPERIENCE IN INDUSTRY – AS JOINT DIRECTOR, LBS CENTRE:

·         Architectural services

-          remodelling  a school premises to LBS Engg College, Poojappura;

-          design of Hostel Block at RGIT, Kottayam

-          restoration and renovation of Kanakakkunnu Palace

-          design of classrooms and library building at LBS Engg College, Kasaragod

·         Coordination of engg consultancy services and respective administration

-          Campus and building designs for Govt. Engg. College, Kasaragod

-          mega project to prepare detailed project reports for more than 250 bridges proposed to  be constructed  across the state  -  an initiative of Kerala PWD

-          quality control of rural roads across the state sponsored by NABARD

-          Civil engg. related assignments especially on site surveying (total station), fixing alignments for major road developments, subsoil investigation and foundation recommendation, structural design / scrutiny .

-          maintenance  of correspondence with clients ,coordinating jobs with consultants, settlement of bills of works etc

·          Coordination of construction activities

-          Management of construction activities in the two Engg. Colleges under  the Centre  from framing of proposals, preparation of designs, estimates and tender documents, tendering of works, organization of system for supervision during execution, monitoring of execution activities, processing of bills of payments, follow up on techno-legal matters, monitoring of maintenance and upkeep of structures etc for-

Ø       remodeling of school campus at Poojappura for LBS Engg. College

Ø       construction of amenities’ block at LBS  Engg College, Poojappura

Ø       construction of multistoried main building at LBS  Engg College , Poojappura

Ø       construction of classroom and library building at LBS Engg. College, Kasaragod

Ø       periodical maintenance of all the buildings

Ø       Coordinating admission of students to B-Tech and MCA programmes in the  
Engg. Colleges under the Centre.
 

  7.         EXPERIENCE IN OTHER AREAS

·         Principal, LBS Institute of Technology for Women, Poojappura ,Thiruvananthapuram (Full additional charge from 31.1.06 onwards – continuing)

      Initiated steps to develop the College as an Institution of Excellence (for women) through      

Ø       Inculcating time and activity discipline

Ø       Enhancing construction activities

Ø       Augmenting placement activities

Ø       Instituting annual technical sessions – seminars, exhibitions and paper presentations

Ø       Founding a Research & Enhanced Education Centre

Ø       Taking up consultancy assignments involving faculty and non-teaching staff

Ø       Documenting daily academic activities like conduct of classes and labs

Ø       Instituting Alumni Awards and Scholarships for needy and bright students

Ø       Publishing interim sessional marks during mid- semesters

Ø       Strengthening PTA programmes and procuring books through PTA

Ø       Launching staff and students’ welfare cooperative society

·         Chairman of various Committees constituted by the Govt. and the District Collector as part of Decentralised Planning System regarding issue of Technical Sanctions to major works’ projects and also works in which cost reduction techniques are proposed to be applied.

·         Member, Board of Studies in Engineering (pass) of University of Kerala continuously for two terms in the capacity of Professor in Architecture.

·         Founder Member, ABHAYA, a non governmental organisation.

·         Founder Member & Executive Committee Member, DRISHYAVEDI, a registered society to promote classical art forms.
